Cape Lobster Exporters Association has pioneered the marketing of South African Live Lobster Internationally and has maintained the leadership in setting the highest standards of quality, reliability and continuity of supply.

In the ever changing international market, our challenge is to maintain a position of market leadership and from a South African perspective, market stability for Jasus Lalandii in order to maximise returns for all stake holders.

Cape Lobster represents the interests of 437 quota holders (40 percent of South African Producers) in the marketing of their lobster. In order to ensure stringent quality standards, three packing facilities are used by Cape Lobster, all compliant with SABS and HACCP standards. Our packing facilities have a combined holding capacity of 120 metric tons and can process in excess of 1000 metric tons of lobster annually in live, whole cooked and raw frozen form.

Cape Lobster hosts an annual marketing function for its shareholders where international buyers update the meeting on all developements in their markets.

Cape Lobster has pioneered all the markets for the South African Rock Lobster Industry which exists today. Cape Lobster’s policies have been developed over many years to manage the interests of its clients in all its markets. Day to day management is performed by our chairman, marketing manager and the logistics managers. Cape Lobster liase closely with the fishermen to ensure maintenance of the best standards from harvest to market.
