When sitting down to enjoy your delicious Cape Lobster, you will no doubt ask yourself exactly why it is that they taste so good. The secret undoubtedly lies in their incredible life experience, which must somehow have contributed to their unique, wonderful flavour. You see, when these lobsters were born, they were so small that their mother lost them. Being smaller than 1mm in length, there was no way for her to keep an eye on them. But, imbued with a high spirit for adventure, they spent the next 14 months travelling the cold oceans of the world, going places and seeing things. Exactly where and what, nobody really knows for sure. But if the stories told by fishermen from all over the world are to be believed, then they have been absolutely everywhere, and back again. And when they returned (amazingly, to the very place of their birth), they were all grown up (between 15mm and 20mm) and had a wealth of life experience packed into their little frames. After all that excitement, it’s no wonder that they spent the next seven to ten years relaxing in the cold waters of the West Coast of South Africa, enjoying the rest and growing to their full, edible size of 75mm. So while you savour every morsel, think of faraway places and exotic coastlines. So that even if you never go there yourself, you can say that you’ve met someone who has.
